Or are there underlying problems that seem to be hindering the workflow? Are some team members talking about leaving because of the dynamics?

  

Sometimes it's difficult to diagnose what's going wrong in teams, especially if you work closely with them.  An independent person can offer a fresh pair of eyes to establish any problematic behavioural patterns or sources of tension. Following the assessment stages, an action plan will be produced to recommend ways to improve relationships and increase efficiency.

FAQ

WHAT DOES TEAM ASSESSMENT INVOLVE?

An independent workplace relations specialist will initially speak to the manager requesting the assessment to gain insight into the structure of the teams and any concerns already highlighted.  Confidential interviews will then take place with team members so that a fuller picture can be obtained.  A report and action plan will be compiled, designed to address any difficult dynamics and underlying issues.

HOW CAN A REPORT BE COMPILED IF THE INTERVIEWS ARE CONFIDENTIAL?

The report will have generalised information and not identify who has said what.  If a key piece of information or a recommendation could identify an individual as having made specific comments, we will gain that person's consent before including the information in the report.

WHAT DOES TEAM ASSESSMENT COST?

Team assessment is charged per half day.  The time required to carry out an assessment will depend on the size of the team, the number of people involved, and the complexity of the situation.  We offer a free 30-minute telephone consultation to help you determine the likely requirements.  If your organisation is located over 25 miles from our office, we will charge additional mileage expenses at 45 pence per mile.

IF I WANT TO ARRANGE A TEAM ASSESSMENT, WHAT WILL WE NEED TO DO?

You will need to explain the process of the assessment to the team so they know what to expect and let them know we will want to talk to them in confidence.  We will need the use of a private meeting room throughout our time at your organisation and we will also need you to arrange for each team member to be available to speak to us at their scheduled time.

WHAT KIND OF THINGS MIGHT BE INCLUDED IN THE RECOMMENDATIONS?

We will highlight any difficult relationships that are in need of reparation and might suggest mediation.  We may also recommend conflict coaching, developmental coaching, training, personal development, and changes to working practices and internal communication.
